The Leeds Rhinos delivered an impressive performance, defeating the Huddersfield Giants 56-22 in the eighth round of the Super League at the Accu Stadium, with Brodie Croft scoring four tries to lead his team to victory. This win propelled the Rhinos to the top of the Super League table on points difference, while the Giants fell to 11th place. Huddersfield had entered the match on a high note, having won against Wigan Warriors and York Knights following the departure of their head coach Luke Robinson, with assistant coach Liam Finn taking temporary charge.

However, the Rhinos proved too strong, extending their own winning streak to three games. The match began with Huddersfield showing promise, as Lachie Miller kicked out on the full, and George King scored an early try to give the home team the lead.

Nevertheless, the Rhinos soon took control, scoring rapidly and consistently to wrap up the match before halftime. Croft initiated the scoring for Leeds, followed by Jarrod O'Connor, who utilized his game intelligence to step through and put his side ahead. A well-placed pass from James McDonnell then enabled Jack Bird to score a try, and shortly after, Ryan Hall achieved a milestone by scoring his 250th try for Leeds.

Miller added to the Rhinos' dominant first half with a clever chip that he chased down himself. Although the Giants managed to respond just before the break with Jacob Dougles scoring in the corner, the Rhinos maintained their 28-10 lead at halftime.

Upon returning for the second half, Leeds continued their strong performance, with Cameron Smith benefiting from a 40/20 by Jake Connor, and Croft scoring his second try. It wasn't long before Croft completed his hat-trick, but Huddersfield fought back through Jacob Gagai. Maika Sivo then scored his 15th try of the season, and Croft showcased his agility to score his fourth try. Olly Russell managed to score late for the hosts, but it was too little, too late, as they succumbed to defeat.

Despite the strong attacking display, Leeds Rhinos head coach Brad Arthur expressed concern over his team's defensive performance, stating that it requires more 'urgency and desperation' and was 'not good enough.' Arthur emphasized the need for his team to prioritize defense, saying, 'We need to care a bit more about our defense. It's not good enough. The boys were a bit flat in the sheds on the back of that defensive performance. For the majority, it was good, but we just lacked a bit of concentration and went to sleep at times.' He stressed the importance of being resilient on the try line and having more urgency with desperation in defense.
