Quansah: Switching to Leverkusen from Liverpool Was an Easy Decision

Bayer Leverkusen defender Jarrell Quansah has stated that his decision to leave Liverpool and join the German club was straightforward. The 23-year-old made the move last summer, signing a five-year contract with Leverkusen in a deal worth £35m after progressing through Liverpool's academy and making 58 appearances for the first team. Quansah has since made 38 appearances for Leverkusen this season, driven by his desire for more playing time. He explained to Sky Sports News that the Leverkusen management's approach and clear plan for him made the decision easy. "They had a lot of detail about what they had seen in me and the potential they believed I could reach, which aligned with my own thoughts," he said. Quansah emphasized that his primary motivation was to play at the top level, and the opportunity to compete in the Bundesliga and the Champions League, including a semi-final match against Bayern, was too good to pass up. Reflecting on his departure from Liverpool, Quansah said he trusted his instincts and took the time to consider what was best for his career. When Leverkusen presented their vision, he felt confident it was the right choice. Looking ahead, Quansah is determined to make a strong finish to the season in hopes of being selected for England's World Cup squad. After withdrawing from the latest selection due to injury, he is focused on demonstrating his abilities on the pitch to earn a spot. "Making the World Cup squad would be an incredible feeling, and I'm going to give it my all in the remaining games with Leverkusen," he said.
