Fitzpatrick Takes the Lead After Round Two of the RBC Heritage
Matt Fitzpatrick secured a one-stroke lead at the RBC Heritage after concluding the second round with an impressive eight-under-par 63. The English golfer achieved eight birdies, including a notable 36-foot putt on the 15th hole, in a flawless round at Hilton Head. Following an initial round of 65, Fitzpatrick, the 2022 US Open winner, started Friday in a six-way tie for third. He now tops the leaderboard with a 14-under-par score at the halfway point, while Norway's Viktor Hovland trails by one stroke after scoring 65 in the second round. Overnight leader Ludvig Aberg slipped to a joint-fourth position due to three bogeys on the back nine. Scotland's Robert MacIntyre is six strokes behind Fitzpatrick after posting a 68, and world number one Scottie Scheffler is seven strokes off the pace with a score of 67.
