Manchester United's interim manager, Michael Carrick, has stated that no decision has been made regarding Marcus Rashford's future with the club. The 28-year-old forward is currently on loan at Barcelona, with a £26m option to buy clause in his contract. However, Barcelona are reportedly hesitant to make the deal permanent at that price.
When asked about the possibility of Rashford returning to Manchester United, Carrick did not rule it out, saying that decisions will be made in due time. Rashford has scored 12 goals and assisted 13 in 43 appearances for Barcelona but has faced criticism for a recent patchy spell.
Manchester United are confident they can receive a higher fee elsewhere if Barcelona refuse the previously agreed terms. The club is also considering strengthening their left-wing options, with RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande and Everton's Iliman Ndiaye reportedly being monitored.
Carrick revealed that conversations regarding recruitment have taken place, but no concrete decisions have been made.
