The prestigious Scottish National Hunt prize was claimed by Philip Hobbs and Johnson White, courtesy of Kap Vert's dominant performance, which saw him outpace Git Maker and Kim Roque in the Coral Scottish Grand National. With only his fifth outing over fences, the six-year-old demonstrated remarkable strength under the guidance of Sean Houlihan. Despite his inexperience, Kap Vert's jumping technique withstood scrutiny, unlike Midlands National winner Isaac Des Obeaux, who lost momentum after a costly mistake early in the home straight, ultimately finishing fourth.
A more significant error occurred when Git Maker made a mistake nearly a mile from the finish line, but he managed to recover and finish second, just a length and a half behind the winner, edging out the 4-1 favourite Kim Roque. This victory served as a substantial consolation for Hobbs and White, who had earlier finished second in the Scottish Champion Hurdle with Captain Hugo, taking home the £112,000 first prize to Somerset.
