The changes, agreed upon during a meeting between F1 stakeholders, team principals, and engine manufacturers, aim to reduce the need for drivers to lift and coast, allowing them to push their cars to the limit. Key updates include revised energy harvesting and deployment limits during qualifying, as well as measures to improve safety, such as capping boosts and limiting power deployment in corners. Additionally, the start procedure will be modified to minimize hazards on the grid, and new regulations for wet weather conditions will be implemented.
These revisions follow extensive consultations with drivers and technical representatives, and are set to be formally approved ahead of the Miami Grand Prix.
