Justin Rose expressed disappointment over a missed chance at Masters glory, stating it was an opportunity that slipped away. The 45-year-old Englishman had led by two shots at one stage in the final round but ultimately finished in a four-way tie for third on 10 under, two behind the leader.
Rose attributed his loss to a shift in momentum around Amen Corner, where he had back-to-back bogeys, and a crucial three-putt for par at the 13th. Despite the setback, Rose praised the crowd at Augusta National for their support throughout the week. Meanwhile, Scottie Scheffler claimed second place behind the leader, achieving a remarkable feat of not dropping a shot all weekend. Tyrrell Hatton also made a strong finish, emerging from the pack with a tremendous run on the back nine to finish with a share of third place.
Hatton's motivation was partly driven by the prospect of returning next year with his newborn, hoping to see his child in a boiler suit at the Par-3 tournament.
