Joel Tomkins has announced his decision to step down as head coach of Catalans Dragons, a position he held for nearly a year, citing personal reasons. The former England international found it challenging to be away from his family and made the decision to leave after spending time at home. Initially, Tomkins took on the role as an interim coach but was later appointed permanently. In a statement, Tomkins expressed his gratitude for the experience and friendships he gained during his time at the club, but admitted that being away from his family for an extended period was difficult. Tomkins will be replaced by Ryan Sheridan, who will take over as interim head coach alongside assistants Micky McIlorum and Mitchell Pearce. The club's next game is on April 18 against the Warrington Wolves in the Super League.
