Red Bull has unveiled a series of changes within its technical department, aiming to bolster its emphasis on performance and innovation. Ben Waterhouse, who has been with the team since 2017 as head of performance engineering, will assume an expanded leadership role as chief performance and design engineer, reporting directly to technical director Pierre Wache. This move is expected to enhance the integration between design and vehicle performance, thereby accelerating the development of high-performing solutions.
Meanwhile, Andrea Landi will join the team on July 1 as head of performance, coming from Racing Bulls, where he most recently served as deputy technical director. Landi, who has also worked with Ferrari as deputy head of vehicle performance, will report to Waterhouse.
According to a Red Bull statement, these changes underscore the team's long-term technical aspirations and its commitment to nurturing internal talent while attracting top expertise from across the sport. Red Bull has faced a challenging start to the new era of F1 regulations, currently sitting sixth in the Constructors' Championship, 119 points behind leaders Mercedes.
The team has also experienced the departure of key staff members to rival teams in recent years, including the recent announcement of Gianpiero Lambiase's move to McLaren in 2028. The Miami Grand Prix, the season's second Sprint weekend, is set to take place on May 1-3, live on Sky Sports F1.
