Smith booked his spot in the final with a 7-5 win over Krzysztof Ratajski, who struggled with his doubling, missing 15 out of 20 attempts. The tournament also saw notable wins, including Nijman's first-ever victory over Michael van Gerwen, where the Dutch up-and-comer capitalized on van Gerwen's sub-par performance to win 6-2.
