According to former world heavyweight champion David Haye, the time has come for Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury to finally face each other in the ring. As a two-weight world titlist and a star of British heavyweight boxing, Haye believes that this bout is essential for both fighters' legacies. Haye expressed his conviction to Sky Sports, stating, "This is the biggest fight they could possibly have, and they should be pushing for it. They both need each other, not just for their own legacies, but for different reasons. They need to prove that they battled it out and determined who won, despite being from the same era." Both Fury and Joshua have recently lost their world titles to Oleksandr Usyk. Fury has just returned to boxing after a year-long break, while Joshua is resuming training after recovering from a car accident. There are ongoing talks for the two to fight this year, with Joshua likely to participate in a warm-up bout first. Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, revealed that they have received a contract for the Fury fight, which is currently under discussion. Haye acknowledges that both boxers may be past their prime, but he believes that what matters is that they are fighting each other, even if it's not at their peak.
