The International Cricket Council has confirmed a 10% increase in the total prize fund for the Women's T20 World Cup 2026, set to take place in England and Wales. The winning team will receive $2.34 million, while the runners-up will take home $1.17 million. All participating teams are guaranteed a minimum of $247,500, more than double the amount from 2024. The tournament, which begins in 60 days, will feature 12 teams competing across seven venues.
The ICC CEO, Sanjog Gupta, stated that the growth of women's cricket is accelerating, and the record prize pool demonstrates the commitment to building a stronger global game. The tournament director, Beth Barrett-Wild, added that the event is set to be a landmark moment for women's cricket, with record-breaking ticket demand and the largest-ever prize pot for a global women's T20 competition.
