FIA Unveils Revised F1 Regulations to Promote Aggressive Driving

Formula 1 authorities have announced a series of adjustments to the 2026 regulations, aimed at addressing driver concerns regarding safety and competition. The changes, agreed upon during a meeting between F1, the FIA, team principals, and engine manufacturers, are designed to enable drivers to push their cars to the limit while minimizing the need for lifting and coasting. Key revisions include modifications to energy harvesting and deployment limits during qualifying, as well as the introduction of measures to improve safety during races, such as capping boosts and limiting power deployment in corners. Additionally, the start procedure will be modified to reduce hazards, and regulations for wet weather conditions have been updated to prioritize safety. These changes follow extensive consultations with drivers and technical representatives, and are set to be implemented ahead of the Miami Grand Prix.
