Doyle: Zavateri the Main Contender in Greenham

Hollie Doyle shares her thoughts on a busy Saturday of racing in her exclusive blog. Archie Watson is sending two promising young horses to Thirsk, and I'll be joining them to ride. Before Merlier attempts a hat-trick, our two-year-old NIEWIADOMA makes her debut in the British EBF Fillies' Novice Stakes. I've had the pleasure of riding her several times, and I'm more than happy with her progress. With natural speed and a great attitude, she's got all the right qualities. It's difficult to gauge her opponents, though, as they're all newcomers, including Karl Burke's pricey daughter of Blue Point Bai Tong. MERLIER has shown promise on the All-Weather, so I'm looking forward to getting back on him in the Stirrup Bar For Deli-Style Dinning Packages Handicap. He's won a five-furlong maiden at Newcastle and followed it up at Wolverhampton, earning an opening rating of 85. Today, Zavateri and Albert Einstein face off in the Greenham Stakes at Newbury. Newbury tips suggest Zavateri might just take it. The Spring Trials weekend is also kicking off at Newbury, with plenty of action to look forward to. In other news, Oxagon won the Craven Stakes, and Azleet made a splash in the Nell Gwyn Stakes. I previously blogged about hoping to learn more about Derby hope Wareeth in the Feilden Stakes. For my other rides, I'm expecting WARM SPELL to do well in the Join Racing TV Today Handicap, given his career-low mark. I'm also looking forward to riding IDYLLIC in the Happy 21st Birthday Lily Watkinson Handicap and SOLAR BIRICZ in the Nick Simpson Cannot Be 60 Handicap. ZAVATERI sets the standard in the Watership Down Stud Too Darn Hot Greenham Stakes, following a stellar juvenile campaign. Albert Einstein's recent performance was underwhelming, but it's interesting to see him out again over seven furlongs. The Group 3 Dubai Duty Free Stakes looks like an open renewal, with several fillies holding similar prospects. I believe Shadwell's TOULEEN has more to offer than she showed in the Rockfel, but she'll need to be at her best to win. I think URBAN LION could be one to watch in the Win Unique Experiences At OLBG Prizes Spring Cup Handicap, and I'm hoping to see Al AASY take the Dubai Duty Free Finest Surprise Stakes for Tom Marquand and William Haggas.
