Andoni Iraola, the head coach of Bournemouth, has announced his decision to leave the club at the end of the current season. In a statement on the club's website, Iraola expressed his gratitude and stated that this is the right moment for him to step down. His final home game will be against Manchester City on May 17, followed by a trip to Nottingham Forest on the last day of the Premier League season. Bournemouth had attempted to persuade Iraola to stay, but he had decided to wait until later in the campaign to have meaningful conversations about his future. The club has been searching for a new head coach in the background and has now narrowed down its options to three favored candidates. Bournemouth is currently 11th in the Premier League table and still has a chance to qualify for Europe, sitting two points behind seventh place. Iraola has been a highly regarded figure at Bournemouth since his appointment in June 2023, implementing an attacking and progressive style of football. During his tenure, the club achieved a record 56 points in the Premier League last season and broke its best top-flight return for a second consecutive season. However, Iraola has had to cope with the sales of several key players, including Dean Huijsen, Milos Kerkez, Illia Zabarnyi, Dango Ouattara, and Antoine Semenyo, for a total of £253m. Iraola's departure from Bournemouth has sparked speculation about his next destination, with Athletic Club expressing interest in bringing him back to the Basque Country as their new head coach.
