Itoje Backs Borthwick to Lead England to Greatness

Maro Itoje has voiced his unwavering support for England coach Steve Borthwick, emphasizing the team's potential to achieve remarkable success under his guidance. Despite a disappointing Six Nations campaign, which saw England finish fifth after four consecutive losses, including a historic defeat to Italy, Itoje remains optimistic. RFU chief executive Bill Sweeney has hinted that Borthwick will be given the opportunity to redeem himself during the summer's Nations Championship. Itoje acknowledges that England fell short of expectations, having entered the tournament on a promising 11-match winning streak. However, he believes that Borthwick and his coaching staff have the capability to reverse the team's fortunes. 'We have faith in our approach,' Itoje stated, 'and I firmly believe that this team will go on to accomplish great things. We simply need to come together, learn from our mistakes, and move forward positively.'
