With the F1 season on hold in April due to the cancellations of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix, Verstappen has added the NLS4 and NLS5 races to his expanding GT3 schedule. He is teamed up with seasoned endurance driver Lucas Auer, nephew of former F1 driver Gerhard Berger, in the Red Bull-liveried Mercedes-AMG GT3 car for Verstappen Racing, competing in a 37-strong GT3 field at the Nurburgring Langstrecken-Serie.

Verstappen secured a win on his debut last September, driving a Ferrari 296 GT3 car alongside Britain's Chris Lulham. He and his teammates, this time behind the wheel of a Mercedes, achieved another first-place finish on Verstappen's return to NLS action last month but were later disqualified due to exceeding the allowed tyre allocation.
