Nicky Richards Seeks to Extend Winning Streak at Hexham

Following a remarkable run of eight consecutive victories, Nicky Richards is set to field three horses at Hexham for Monday's National Hunt racing. Jamesieconn will attempt to secure a fourth win for the in-form Richards team, having previously shown a preference for the three-mile distance and good ground when winning at Carlisle. The seven-year-old has since been raised 5lbs to a mark of 100, which may prove to be a challenge, but it would not be surprising to see Danny McMenamin's mount rise to the occasion once again. Streamsforth Lad has placed in various events but is yet to achieve a win, and despite showing improvement, remains on a mark of 97. Meanwhile, Stuart Coltherd's Rightbackatyou will look to build on his recent performance behind Scottish King over the same course and distance. Nicky Richards will also be represented by Young Getaway, who makes his chasing debut in the Anthony Woods Electrical Lightning Bolt Handicap Chase. This comes a year after his defeat over hurdles to That One, who also makes his debut over fences. That One will be ridden by Jack Power, who claims 5lbs, effectively reducing the seven-year-old's mark to a manageable 105. The Lucinda Russell and Michael Scudamore partnership will be represented by Heads Or Harps and Choose A Copper, with the former having been consistently placing in recent events. Grant Wood returns to Gosforth Park, a course where he has enjoyed success in the past, while Wicket Keeper seeks to build on his previous wins over six furlongs. Paddy's Day will wear a tongue-tie for the first time, and Albasheer returns with Hollie Doyle in the saddle. Gardener is also set to compete in the Happy Retirement Maurice & Anne Barnes Handicap Hurdle at 4:30 pm.
