Andoni Iraola to Depart Bournemouth as Club Shortlists Three Potential Successors

Andoni Iraola, the head coach of Bournemouth, has announced his decision to leave the club at the end of the current season. With his contract set to expire in three months, Iraola had rejected multiple offers to extend his stay, amid interest from his former club Athletic Club and other Premier League teams. His departure marks the end of a record-breaking three-year tenure on the south coast. A shortlist of three candidates, including former RB Salzburg and Borussia Dortmund boss Marco Rose, has been compiled to succeed Iraola. Bournemouth, currently 11th in the Premier League, still has a chance to qualify for Europe, sitting two points behind seventh place. Iraola's popularity at the club is undeniable, having implemented an attacking style of football since his appointment in June 2023. His future plans remain uncertain, with Athletic Club expressing interest in bringing him back to the Basque Country. Other clubs, such as Crystal Palace and Tottenham, had also been linked to Iraola, but have since moved on to other targets or made alternative appointments. As the search for a new head coach continues, Bournemouth aims to end Iraola's time on a high note, with a potential European qualification still within reach.
