English rugby player Ellie Kildunne has shared her personal struggle with body dysmorphia, which began during the 2020 coronavirus lockdown. Kildunne, a key player in England's Rugby World Cup victory, scoring five tries, including a notable solo effort in the final against Canada, has spoken about feeling isolated after the tournament.
She has now discussed her experiences with unhealthy weight loss and the eating disorder she developed during the pandemic, when she was unable to play competitive rugby. Kildunne, who recently released her autobiography 'Game Changer', told the BBC about her distorted body image and unhealthy relationship with food.
She credits a physio session with lead physiotherapist Emily Ross at her previous club Wasps for helping her address the issue. Kildunne now feels in control and wants to use her platform to help others who may be struggling with similar issues, emphasizing that nobody is perfect and that she is more than just a rugby player.
