Aston Martin's Struggles to Continue for the Foreseeable Future

According to Martin Brundle, Aston Martin's current struggles in the 2026 F1 season are far from over. The team has had a disastrous start to the new era of rules, failing to score a single point in the first three race weekends. Despite the promising signing of design genius Adrian Newey and the partnership with Honda, the team has been plagued by a lack of speed and reliability. Brundle believes that the team's woes will not be resolved anytime soon, citing the challenges of improving performance under the current cost cap and relentless championship calendar. The team's drivers, Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll, have struggled to make an impact, with Alonso's 18th-place finish in Japan being the only time either car has completed a full Grand Prix. Brundle notes that the team is missing out on three to four seconds per lap, which is a significant gap to bridge. While Aston Martin and Honda are working to improve their package, Brundle expects the team's struggles to continue into 2027.
