Benn: Garcia Remains the Top Priority, but Other Big-Name Fighters Are Eager for a Bout

Conor Benn has stated that a WBC title fight against Ryan Garcia is his primary objective, but he has also revealed that several other prominent fighters are now seeking to face him in the ring. Benn recently signed a multi-year, multi-fight contract with Zuffa Boxing, following his successful debut with the company, where he defeated Regis Prograis on the undercard of the Tyson Fury event at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. As the mandatory challenger for Garcia's WBC welterweight title, Benn believes he is now in a position to take on a range of elite opponents. 'While the Garcia fight is my top priority, I have plenty of other options available to me,' Benn said in an interview with Sky Sports. 'There are numerous fighters, including some big names, who are eager to face me in the ring. If Ryan Garcia is not interested in the fight, there are plenty of other opportunities for me to pursue.' Benn, who avenged his only loss with a rematch victory over Chris Eubank Jr at middleweight last November, has been amused by the reaction to his points win over two-time world champion Prograis. 'It's interesting to see how all these fighters are now calling me out and wanting to fight me, when nobody was interested after my second fight against Eubank,' Benn noted. 'Perhaps it's a blessing in disguise that I went the distance with Regis Prograis, as it has given me more options and attracted more attention from other fighters.' Dana White, the head of Zuffa Boxing, is open to arranging a 'fun' fight between Benn and Garcia, and has expressed his desire to make the biggest and most exciting fights possible. With Zuffa Boxing having recently signed former WBO cruiserweight champion Chris Billam-Smith, White is expecting to recruit more of Britain's top fighters in the coming weeks.
