Dubois recently called out Baumgardner after her win over Terri Harper, but Baumgardner is not convinced that Dubois is ready for a high-profile clash. Baumgardner stated, 'Every fight is a potential fight, but I think Caroline needs to continue building who she is as a champion.' She also mentioned that Dubois needs to 'put some more skin in the game' and prove herself before a fight between the two can be considered. Meanwhile, Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of Most Valuable Promoters, suggested that Dubois should focus on becoming undisputed in her division before pursuing a fight with Baumgardner. Bidarian believes that if Dubois can become close to undisputed, it would create a bigger event when she eventually faces Baumgardner. Baumgardner could become the undisputed champion at super-featherweight again if she defeats Shin and then faces Caroline Veyre, the WBC belt-holder at 130lbs. Dmitriy Salita, Veyre's promoter, expressed interest in making the fight happen, saying, 'We're absolutely open to it and would like to move quickly to make the fight happen.'
