Ruby White Shines Among Future Stars at National Finals

The England Boxing National Amateur Championships showcased the sport's future talent, with Ruby White claiming her first senior national title in the flyweight category. White, a World U19 champion and four-time European age group champion, defeated Madi Gittens of Box Club via unanimous decision, extending her unbeaten run to over 60 contests. 'I've proven people wrong by winning this tournament as a first-year senior,' White said. 'The jump from youth to senior level is massive, but I've shown I belong on the big stage and hope to compete for GB soon.' White attributed her success to her intense training and unwavering dedication. Meanwhile, Billy Macey became a two-time national champion in the men's flyweight category, while Adekali Kargbo impressed by dethroning reigning 90kg champion Akinola Tijani. Other notable winners included Clinton Achusim, who secured the super-heavyweight title, and Amo Singh, who won the 65kg title. GB boxer Joe Turner also prevailed in a high-class 62.5kg final, stating, 'I was made for moments like this, and I'm confident I'll become a world champion as a pro one day.' The GB squad is set to compete in the World Boxing Cup event in Brazil, featuring boxers such as Sacha Hickey, Lauren Mackie, and Chantelle Reid in the women's team, and Ellis Trowbridge, Will Hewitt, and Teagn Stott in the men's line-up.
