Red Bull has unveiled a series of changes to its technical department, aiming to bolster its emphasis on performance and innovation. Ben Waterhouse, who has been with the team since 2017 as head of performance engineering, will take on an expanded leadership role as chief performance and design engineer, reporting to technical director Pierre Wache.
This move is expected to enhance the integration of design and vehicle performance, thereby accelerating the development of high-performing solutions. Meanwhile, Andrea Landi will join the team from Racing Bulls on July 1 as head of performance, bringing with him experience from his previous role as deputy technical director and his time at Ferrari as deputy head of vehicle performance.
Landi will report to Waterhouse. According to a statement from Red Bull, these changes are in line with the team's long-term technical objectives and reflect its commitment to nurturing internal talent while attracting top expertise from the sport. The team has faced a challenging start to the new era of F1 regulations, currently sitting sixth in the Constructors' Championship, and has seen several key staff members depart for rival teams in recent years.
The Miami Grand Prix, the season's second Sprint weekend, is set to take place on May 1-3, live on Sky Sports F1.
