Conor Benn has stated that his primary focus is on securing a WBC title fight against Ryan Garcia, but he has also revealed that several other prominent fighters are now eager to face him in the ring. Following his recent victory over Regis Prograis at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Benn signed a multi-year, multi-fight deal with Zuffa Boxing.
As the mandatory challenger for Garcia's WBC welterweight title, Benn believes he has numerous options and is not limited to just one potential opponent. 'Of course, the Garcia fight is my top priority, but I have plenty of other options,' Benn said in an interview with Sky Sports.
'There are many fighters, including some big names, who are now calling me out and wanting to fight me.' Benn's recent win over Prograis has seemingly made him a more attractive opponent, with many fighters now eager to test themselves against him. 'It's amusing to see how many fighters are now calling me out after my win over Prograis,' Benn said.
'After my fight against Chris Eubank Jr, nobody was interested in facing me, but now it seems like everyone wants a piece of the action.' Zuffa Boxing head Dana White has expressed his willingness to make a 'fun' fight between Benn and Garcia, and the organization has also announced the signing of former WBO cruiserweight champion Chris Billam-Smith. White expects to recruit more of Britain's top fighters in the coming weeks, stating, 'We're looking for lots of UK talent, not just the big names, but also young up-and-coming fighters who have the potential to become world champions.'
