The International Cricket Council has confirmed a 10% increase in the total prize fund for the Women's T20 World Cup 2026, with the winning team set to receive $2.34 million and the runners-up taking home $1.17 million. All participating teams are guaranteed a minimum of $247,500, more than double the amount from the previous edition. The tournament, which will be held in England and Wales, is expected to break attendance and viewing records, with a record prize pool of $8.765 million. The event will feature 12 teams competing in 33 matches across 24 days, with the first match scheduled to take place on June 12.
The ICC CEO, Sanjog Gupta, stated that the growth of women's cricket continues to accelerate, and the expansion of the tournament underlines the commitment to building a stronger, more competitive global game. The tournament director, Beth Barrett-Wild, added that the event is set to be a landmark moment for the game, with record-breaking ticket demand and the largest-ever prize pot for a global women's T20 competition.
