Red Bull Revamps Technical Team

In a bid to enhance its performance and innovation, Red Bull has unveiled a series of changes within its technical department. Ben Waterhouse, who has been with the team since 2017 as head of performance engineering, will assume an expanded leadership role as chief performance and design engineer, reporting directly to technical director Pierre Wache. This move aims to bolster the integration between design and vehicle performance, thereby accelerating the development of cutting-edge solutions. Meanwhile, Andrea Landi is set to join the team on July 1 as head of performance, bringing with him a wealth of experience from his previous roles, including a stint as deputy technical director at Racing Bulls and deputy head of vehicle performance at Ferrari. Landi will report to Waterhouse. According to a statement from Red Bull, these changes underscore the team's commitment to its long-term technical objectives, emphasizing the importance of nurturing internal talent while attracting top expertise from across the sport. The team is currently navigating a challenging start to the new era of F1 regulations, sitting sixth in the Constructors' Championship. The recent exodus of key staff members to rival teams has also posed a challenge, with the latest departure being Gianpiero Lambiase, who will join McLaren in 2028. The Miami Grand Prix, the season's second Sprint weekend, is scheduled to take place on May 1-3, and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports F1.
