Fitzpatrick Takes the Lead After Round Two of the RBC Heritage
Matt Fitzpatrick concluded the second day of the RBC Heritage with a one-stroke advantage, having shot an impressive eight-under-par 63. The English golfer achieved eight birdies, including a notable 36-foot putt on the 15th hole, in a flawless second round at Hilton Head. Fitzpatrick, the 2022 US Open champion, started Friday in a six-way tie for third place after an opening round of 65. At the halfway point, the 31-year-old leads the leaderboard with a score of 14 under par, while Norway's Viktor Hovland trails by one stroke, retaining his second-place position with a second-round score of 65. Overnight leader Ludvig Aberg slipped to a joint-fourth position after making three bogeys on the back nine. Scotland's Robert MacIntyre finished the day six strokes behind Fitzpatrick, having posted a 68, and world number one Scottie Scheffler carded a 67, putting him seven strokes off the lead.
