The Coral Scottish Grand National was won by Kap Vert, trained by Philip Hobbs and owned by Johnson White, as the six-year-old dominated the field, leaving Git Maker and Kim Roque in his wake. Under the guidance of Sean Houlihan, Kap Vert demonstrated impressive jumping skills despite his limited experience over fences.
Meanwhile, Midlands National winner Isaac Des Obeaux and Git Maker both made critical errors, with the former fading to fourth and the latter recovering to finish second. Hobbs and White's success came as a welcome consolation after finishing second in the Scottish Champion Hurdle with Captain Hugo earlier in the day, taking home the £112,000 first prize.
