Thomas Partey Denies Latest Rape Allegations

Ex-Arsenal player Thomas Partey has entered not guilty pleas to two fresh allegations of rape. The 32-year-old midfielder appeared in court on Monday, denying the accusations of raping a woman in London in December 2020. He had previously been charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault, which allegedly took place between 2021 and 2022, and had already pleaded not guilty to those charges. A trial was initially set for November this year, but with the two new allegations, the court has decided to try all the charges together, potentially delaying the trial until January next year. Partey now faces a total of seven counts of rape and one count of sexual assault, all of which he denies. The Ghanaian footballer, who currently plays for Villarreal, was granted bail with the condition that he does not contact the alleged victims. His case is set to be heard in court again on May 14 for a pre-trial hearing, with a decision on the exact trial date to be made once the trial judge is confirmed.
