Can India Afford to Overlook Sooryavanshi, and Will He Make His Mark on England?

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has made history by becoming the youngest player to score a century in the IPL, achieving this feat just nine days after his record-breaking debut at the age of 14 in 2025. Now, at 15, India's newest cricket sensation continues to impress, sparking debates about his potential debut on the international stage. Sooryavanshi's incredible start to his IPL career, including a 35-ball hundred as a 14-year-old, has been followed by consistent performances in the 2026 edition, demonstrating his ability to excel under pressure with the Rajasthan Royals. With two 15-ball fifties against the Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and a total of 200 runs from five innings at a strike rate of 263.15, he is the third-highest run-scorer in the tournament. Although a golden duck in Monday's defeat to the Sunrisers Hyderabad showed Sooryavanshi is human, his exceptional ball-striking power, physical presence, and composure at the crease have left seasoned professionals in awe.
