Carrick Remains Tight-Lipped on Rashford's Manchester United Future

Manchester United's caretaker manager Michael Carrick has revealed that no decision has been made regarding Marcus Rashford's future at the club. The 28-year-old forward is currently on loan at Barcelona, with the Spanish club having a £26m option to buy clause. However, there are reports that Barcelona are hesitant to make the deal permanent due to the high price tag. When questioned about the possibility of Rashford returning to Manchester United, Carrick did not rule it out, stating that decisions will be made in due time. Rashford has had a successful spell at Barcelona, scoring 12 goals and providing 13 assists in 43 appearances. Nevertheless, he has faced criticism for his recent performances, including being dropped for the second leg of Barcelona's Champions League quarter-final defeat to Atletico Madrid. Manchester United are reportedly unwilling to renegotiate the fee with Barcelona, and are confident that they can receive a higher price from other clubs if the Spanish side decides not to exercise the option to buy. Meanwhile, Carrick has also hinted that Manchester United will strengthen their left-wing position in the upcoming transfer window, with the club having already identified potential targets, including RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande and Everton's Iliman Ndiaye.
