McLaren Unveils Strategy to Reclaim Title

Lando Norris is optimistic that McLaren can still mount a strong title defense when the F1 season resumes at the Miami Grand Prix, despite the team's slow start. Norris, the reigning champion, has not yet achieved a podium finish in the first three races, but his teammate Oscar Piastri secured a second-place finish in Japan. With nearly five weeks to refine their cars, Norris believes there is ample opportunity to turn the situation around. "I think we can have a good season, even if we're not where we want to be right now," Norris said, emphasizing that the team will continue to push hard for the championship. Norris trails early championship leader Kimi Antonelli by 47 points but remains confident, citing examples of the team's past ability to overcome early setbacks and finish the season in a stronger position. The team will focus on resolving reliability issues and improving their understanding of the car, particularly the Mercedes power unit. Ensuring sufficient track time and laps is crucial for development, and Norris expressed his trust in the team's ability to make the necessary improvements. Teammate Piastri also expressed confidence in the team's ability to close the gap to Mercedes and consistently contend for victories over the remaining 19 races.
