Shadasia Green Receives Medical Attention for Brain Hemorrhage Following Defeat to Lani Daniels

Following her loss to Lani Daniels in a New York boxing match, Shadasia Green underwent treatment for a brain hemorrhage. The bout, which took place at the Madison Square Garden Theater, was for the unified IBF and WBO super-middleweight titles. Green was stopped in the ninth round after Daniels unleashed a flurry of punches, prompting the referee to intervene and Green to be stretchered out of the ring. In a social media post, Green revealed that she had suffered a brain bleed, stating, "I lost consciousness due to bleeding in my brain. However, I am currently in the ICU and on the path to recovery. I will return to claim what is mine, 100 percent." Green had previously gained recognition as a unified world champion after defeating Britain's Savannah Marshall, making her a potential opponent for multi-weight undisputed champion Claressa Shields. Expressing gratitude, Green said, "I want to thank everyone who showed concern and those who realized something was amiss during the fight. I appreciate the support of MVP and my promoter, Nakisa Bidarian, who have been by my side throughout my hospital stay."
