The International Cricket Council has confirmed a 10% increase in the total prize fund for the Women's T20 World Cup 2026, to be held in England and Wales. The winning team will receive $2.34m, while the runners-up will take home $1.17m.
All participating teams are guaranteed a minimum of $247,500, more than double the amount from 2024. The tournament is set to kick off in 60 days, with England facing Sri Lanka at Edgbaston. The ICC CEO, Sanjog Gupta, stated that the growth of women's cricket is accelerating, and the record prize pool demonstrates the commitment to building a stronger global game. The tournament director, Beth Barrett-Wild, expects the event to be a landmark moment for women's cricket, with record-breaking ticket demand and the largest-ever prize pot.
The prize money for the top two teams remains the same as in 2024, but there was a 134% increase from 2023. The total prize pot for the tournament has grown to $8,765m, with the expansion to 12 teams.
The 33-match event will be held across 24 days in seven venues, featuring teams from around the world.
