Red Bull Revamps Technical Team

Red Bull has unveiled a restructuring of its technical department, aimed at intensifying its emphasis on innovation and performance. Ben Waterhouse, who has been a part of the team since 2017 as the head of performance engineering, will assume an expanded leadership role as chief performance and design engineer, reporting directly to Technical Director Pierre Wache. This shift is expected to bolster the integration between design and vehicle performance, thereby accelerating the development of high-performing solutions. Meanwhile, Andrea Landi is set to join the team from Racing Bulls on July 1, taking on the role of head of performance. Landi, who has previously worked with Ferrari as deputy head of vehicle performance, will report to Waterhouse. According to a statement from Red Bull, these changes underscore the team's long-term technical aspirations and its commitment to cultivating internal talent while attracting top expertise from across the sport. The team has faced a challenging start to the new era of F1 regulations, currently sitting sixth in the Constructors' Championship, 119 points behind leaders Mercedes. The restructuring comes amid a series of key staff departures and hires by rival teams over the past few years, including the recent announcement that Gianpiero Lambiase will join McLaren in 2028. The Miami Grand Prix, the season's second Sprint weekend, is scheduled to take place on May 1-3, live on Sky Sports F1.
