In a thrilling conclusion to the Coral Scottish Grand National, Kap Vert emerged victorious, claiming the top prize for trainer Philip Hobbs and owner Johnson White. Ridden by Sean Houlihan, the six-year-old Kap Vert demonstrated impressive form, overpowering rivals Git Maker and Kim Roque.
Despite being relatively inexperienced in fence runs, having only his fifth outing, Kap Vert showed remarkable jumping prowess. Meanwhile, Midlands National winner Isaac Des Obeaux and Git Maker both experienced notable setbacks during the race, with the latter almost losing his jockey, Jonathan Burke, after a significant mistake. Nevertheless, Git Maker managed to recover and secure a second-place finish, just a length and a half behind Kap Vert, while Kim Roque took third. This significant win, with a £112,000 first prize, served as a more than satisfactory consolation for Hobbs and White after finishing second in the Scottish Champion Hurdle with Captain Hugo earlier in the day.
