David Haye Urges Joshua and Fury to Settle Score

According to former world heavyweight champion David Haye, the time has come for Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury to put their differences aside and agree to a highly anticipated fight. Haye, who held titles in two weight classes, believes this bout is essential for both fighters' legacies, as it would allow them to prove themselves against each other and determine who is the better boxer. Haye expressed his thoughts to Sky Sports, stating, "They both need each other for different reasons, primarily to solidify their own legacies and to be able to say they fought each other during the same era." He emphasized that the fight between Joshua and Fury would be the biggest they could possibly have, making it crucial for their careers. Both Fury and Joshua have recently suffered losses to Oleksandr Usyk, with Fury returning to boxing after a year-long hiatus and Joshua resuming training following a car accident. There are ongoing discussions about a potential fight between the two this year, with Joshua likely to participate in a warm-up bout beforehand. Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, revealed that a contract for the Fury fight is currently being discussed. Haye acknowledges that both fighters are past their prime but believes the potential earnings from the fight could be higher now than they would have been when it was first proposed. Fury's recent 12-round bout with Arslanbek Makhmudov may have prepared him for the upcoming fight against Joshua, as Makhmudov's size, strength, and fighting style are similar to Joshua's. Haye thinks this could be a strategic move by Fury, who may believe he has what it takes to defeat Joshua.
