The International Cricket Council has confirmed a 10% increase in the total prize fund for the Women's T20 World Cup 2026, set to take place in England and Wales. This year's champions will receive $2.34m, while the runners-up will take home $1.17m.
All participating teams are guaranteed a minimum of $247,500, more than double the amount from 2024. The tournament, which kicks off in 60 days, is expected to break attendance and viewing records, with a record prize pool of $8,765m. The event will feature 12 teams, including Australia, Bangladesh, India, and New Zealand, competing across 24 days in seven venues. ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta stated, 'The growth of women's cricket continues to accelerate, and this event is shaping up to leave a lasting impact on the wider socio-cultural landscape.' The trophy tour will begin at Lord's Cricket Ground before traveling to qualified European nations and hosting cities, building excitement for the tournament.
The prize money breakdown includes $2,340,000 for the winners, $1,170,000 for the runners-up, and $675,000 for the losing semi-finalists.
