Thomas Partey Pleads Not Guilty to Additional Rape Allegations
Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has entered not guilty pleas to two new allegations of rape. The 32-year-old appeared in court on Monday to deny the charges, which relate to an alleged incident in London in December 2020. Partey had previously been charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault, and had also pleaded not guilty to those charges. The new allegations bring the total number of charges against him to seven counts of rape and one count of sexual assault, all of which he denies. The trial, which was initially set for November, may now be delayed until January due to the additional charges. Partey, who is currently on bail, is expected to play for Ghana in the World Cup this summer.
