Atletico Madrid has reached the Champions League semifinals for the first time since the 2016/2017 season, defeating Barcelona 3-2 on aggregate. Diego Simeone's team took a 2-0 lead into the second leg, but Barcelona spectacularly wiped out their advantage within 25 minutes with goals from Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres. Atletico regained their aggregate lead when Ademola Lookman finished off a sweeping move. Despite the introduction of Marcus Rashford and Robert Lewandowski, Barcelona's attack lacked bite in the second half.

Eric Garcia's red card with 11 minutes remaining sealed Barcelona's fate, and Atletico will now face the winner of the tie between Arsenal and Sporting in the semifinals.
