Despite a disappointing Six Nations campaign, Maro Itoje remains confident that England can achieve great things under Steve Borthwick's leadership. England's poor performance saw them finish fifth, with four consecutive defeats, including a historic loss to Italy. However, RFU chief executive Bill Sweeney has indicated that Borthwick will be given the opportunity to redeem himself during the summer's Nations Championship.
Itoje believes that Borthwick, along with his coaching staff, has the ability to turn things around. "We have faith in our approach," Itoje stated.
"Steve and his team are exceptional coaches. We just need to come together, learn from our mistakes, and move forward positively." Itoje's confidence in the team remains unwavering, and he is convinced that they will go on to do great things.
"My belief in this England team hasn't changed," he said. "We will learn from our lessons and move forward, and I have no doubt that we will achieve something special."
