Skelton Overjoyed by Trainers' Title Victory

Dan Skelton has expressed his thrill at finally achieving the title of champion trainer after it became mathematically impossible for anyone to surpass him. The Alcester-based trainer had previously seen the title slip through his fingers on the final day of the previous two seasons, with Willie Mullins edging him out. However, Skelton has made amends in style, dominating the season from the start and becoming the first trainer to exceed £4 million in prize money. Skelton has previously faced intense competition from Mullins in the final weeks of the season but is now poised to savor his victory with minimal opposition from Closutton in the remaining weeks. Mullins, who trails Skelton by £2,094,034, conceded defeat and congratulated Skelton following his Grand National win with I Am Maximus. This leaves Skelton with a clear path to enjoy his victory ahead of receiving the trophy for the first time at Sandown Park on April 25.
