Carragher: Tottenham's Relegation Looms Large
Jamie Carragher believes Tottenham are on the brink of relegation after their dismal performance in Roberto De Zerbi's first game in charge. The 1-0 defeat at Sunderland has left Spurs in the relegation zone with six games remaining, two points behind West Ham in 17th place. Carragher stated, 'I can't believe it. Tottenham look like they're going to go down.' The team's survival status in the top-flight is now out of their hands. Despite being one of the Premier League's 'Big Six', their performance was lackluster, creating just 0.15 worth of Expected Goals in the second half against Sunderland. Former Spurs midfielder Jamie O'Hara ranked Spurs' chances of Premier League survival at just '10 per cent', saying, 'They have not won this year... I don't see anything from Spurs to say they can get out of this.' De Zerbi acknowledged the team's struggles, saying, 'We have to be stronger... We have to react with enthusiasm, the right spirit.' He emphasized that one win could change their season, but the team needs to believe in themselves and their teammates.
