Nicky Richards Seeks to Extend Winning Streak at Hexham

Following an impressive eight consecutive victories, Nicky Richards is set to send three horses to Hexham for Monday's National Hunt racing event. Jamesieconn, part of the in-form Richards team, will be competing in the Mick Walsh Open Ditch Handicap Chase, seeking to secure a fourth consecutive win. Having previously demonstrated a strong performance over the three-mile distance and on good ground at Carlisle, Jamesieconn has been assigned a new mark of 100 after being raised 5lbs. Despite the added weight, the seven-year-old may still pose a significant challenge under the guidance of Danny McMenamin. Streamsforth Lad, another Richards contender, has shown promise in hurdle races, bumpers, and chases but is yet to achieve a win. With 18 starts under his belt, he remains at a mark of 97. Meanwhile, Stuart Coltherd's Rightbackatyou will be competing, having previously finished as the best of the rest behind Scottish King over the same course and distance. Nicky Richards will also be fielding Young Getaway in the Anthony Woods Electrical Lightning Bolt Handicap Chase, as the team attempts to extend their remarkable winning streak. This will be Young Getaway's chasing debut, a year after being defeated over hurdles by That One, who will also be making his first appearance over fences. That One, with Jack Power's 5lbs claim, will have an effective mark of 105, making for an intriguing competition. The Lucinda Russell and Michael Scudamore duo will be represented by Heads Or Harps and Choose A Copper, with the former having demonstrated consistency in recent performances. Grant Wood, trained by Paul Midgley, returns to Gosforth Park, a course where he has enjoyed significant success, including two recent victories. Wicket Keeper, having achieved two wins over six furlongs, will also be competing, as will Paddy's Day, who will be wearing a tongue-tie for the first time under Nigel Tinkler's guidance. Albasheer, a previous winner of the Constantine Handicap, will be ridden by Sky Sports Racing ambassador Hollie Doyle. Gardener, who won his last outing over the course and distance, will return for the Happy Retirement Maurice & Anne Barnes Handicap Hurdle at 4:30 pm.
