Itoje backs Borthwick to lead England to greatness

England's Maro Itoje has reiterated his backing for head coach Steve Borthwick, asserting that the team is capable of achieving remarkable success under his guidance. Despite a disappointing Six Nations campaign, which saw England finish fifth after four consecutive losses, including a historic defeat to Italy, Itoje remains optimistic about the team's potential. The RFU chief executive, Bill Sweeney, has indicated that Borthwick will be given the opportunity to redeem himself during the summer's Nations Championship. Itoje acknowledges that the team fell short of expectations in the Six Nations, but he believes in Borthwick and his coaching staff, which includes Richard Wigglesworth, Kevin Sinfield, Joe Shaw, and Lee Blackett. "We have faith in our approach," Itoje stated, emphasizing the need for the team to learn from their mistakes and move forward. He expressed his unwavering confidence in the team, saying, "I have a lot of faith in this England team, and I think we're going to accomplish great things. It's just a matter of learning from our mistakes and moving forward."
