Kap Vert Claims Scottish National Gold for Hobbs and White

The prestigious Scottish Grand National title was won by Kap Vert, trained by Philip Hobbs and owned by Johnson White, who outran Git Maker and Kim Roque. Under the skilled riding of Sean Houlihan, the six-year-old Kap Vert demonstrated impressive strength and agility throughout the race. Despite being relatively new to fence racing, having only his fifth run, Kap Vert's jumping skills were noteworthy. In contrast, Midlands National winner Isaac Des Obeaux struggled with his jumping and eventually finished fourth. Git Maker, who made a significant error almost a mile from the finish line, managed to recover and secure second place, just a length and a half behind Kap Vert, while Kim Roque took third. This victory served as a welcome consolation for Hobbs and White, who had earlier finished second in the Scottish Champion Hurdle with Captain Hugo. The duo took home the £112,000 first prize, a substantial reward for their efforts.
