Former Celtic player Chris Sutton believes his old team faces an uphill task in claiming their 14th league title since 2011, instead backing either Hearts or Rangers for the championship. The Scottish Premiership has witnessed a thrilling title race, with the top three teams having no room for error in the remaining five games. Recently, all three teams secured victories on the same weekend for the first time since January, with Hearts maintaining their top spot, one point ahead of Rangers, and Celtic trailing by two points.
Despite Celtic's 1-0 win over St Mirren, Sutton doubts their ability to retain the title. "It's impossible to predict, but I think it's between Hearts and Rangers," he said.
Sutton's comments came after watching Rangers' impressive 6-3 comeback win at Falkirk. Meanwhile, Scott Arfield, a Rangers player, feels it's too early to rule out any team, emphasizing the importance of winning each game. "The next game is always the most crucial, but we also look at where we think we can win and have faith in our abilities," Arfield stated. With the title race expected to go down to the wire, all three teams will need to find a way to win their remaining games.
