Double Injury Setback for England in Women's Six Nations
England's Women's Six Nations campaign has been dealt a significant blow with the loss of Morwenna Talling and Natasha Hunt to injury. The pair sustained leg injuries during England's 33-12 victory over Ireland at Allianz Stadium, in front of a record-breaking crowd of 77,120. Talling, who started the match, was forced off after 43 minutes, while Hunt, who came on as a substitute, lasted just 13 minutes before being replaced due to injury. This latest setback adds to England's existing lock crisis, with Zoe Stratford, Abbie Ward, and Rosie Galligan all ruled out due to pregnancy. Following the Ireland match, England head coach John Mitchell stated: "With the loss of four international locks, we may have to rely on our back-rowers for the remainder of the competition. We will adapt our strategy to make it work if needed." Talling and Hunt will remain with the England squad to consult with specialists before beginning their rehabilitation at their respective clubs. The RFU has announced that Sydney Gregson and uncapped player Haidee Head have joined the squad ahead of England's upcoming match against Scotland at Murrayfield on Saturday.
